21 Apr Wedding Invitation Pop Up Card: Linked Rings
This pop up card was one of my first wedding card designs. It's simple, elegant and represents marriage or an engagement. The card has 2 rings which stand up in the center of the card. I considered making 3 rings, but I would have had to cut the third ring out separately and glued it inside the card. The 2 rings can be cut out and assembled with minimum amount of gluing. I made three versions. The first version is the basic linked ring card shown here:
In the next card, I've added “Congratulations” and the names of the couple within the rings. The names make the card more customized. To make it a little more simple, the initials of the wedding couple could be used.
In this version, I've made the card into a pop up card wedding invitation. I've added a red ribbon for some contrasting color. I've also cut out the date and time of the wedding and glued them into the ring “shadows.” I then printed out some wording to paste on the sides of the ring “shadows.”
Here is a video of the three cards.

Posted at 02:42h, 12 FebruaryThis card will fit in a standard invitation envelope. You can also wrap it like you would a gift. I often wrap my cards with nice wrapping paper instead of using an envelope.

Posted at 11:03h, 22 JuneThis is beautiful & is also perfect for an engagement party!! These would be great for mine. However, it kinda looks like a lot of work! Approximately how long did it take you just to make one? I’d want to invite up to 50 people (or more) & I can only imagine the time & work. Also/lastly, I don’t have those tools you were using :

Posted at 18:14h, 22 JuneHi Christina! I made my own wedding invitations. You may want to consider buying a cutting machine. This will make it much easier and faster to make. If you cut it out by hand, it could take you 30min to 1 hour to cut the designs out by hand. You could simplify the design a little and cut them out faster. For example, you don’t need to cut out all the facets in the diamond.
