10 Jan Valentine’s Day Pop Up Card: Spiral Heart
It was a week before Valentine's Day 2007, and I've been going out with my girlfriend at that time for about 9 months. I wanted to make her a Valentine's Day card. I had a concept that consisted of 2 hearts, intertwined, each reaching out for the other, meeting in the center, perfectly symmetrical. That's when I came up with this card. It was a simple elegant design and easy to make. The original card I made is on my reallyrich92 channel, but I made a new one, shown below, so I could create a tutorial. This new one has a red spiral heart on a pink cover.
Here is the card in action:
You can view the tutorial for this design here: Spiral Heart Pop Up Card.

Posted at 10:51h, 11 JanuaryThank you for the great tutorials and templates!
Do you think you could share a template for the Pop-Up Valentines Day Card 2009 I found on your YouTube channel? I’ve trying to make a similar popup, a simpler one – with only circles; haven’t succeeded so far 🙁 But the hearts one really blew me away, so please tell us if you’re going to share it with us and I’ll be waiting patiently 🙂
Thanks again!

Posted at 10:57h, 11 JanuaryHi Teddy, thanks for your interest in my pop up cards. The Valentines day card 2009 is by far the most popular, but also the most difficult. I am currently working through tutorials starting from 2007. Unfortunately, I don’t have any templates for the 2009 card, so I’ll have to design it from scratch. I will make a tutorial for it, but it may not be up before 2011’s Valentine’s day :(.

Posted at 21:08h, 20 JanuaryDear R….A girlfriend is coming over on Saturday to make Valentine’s Day cards. So while snooping on the internet for ideas, I was so happy to come across your beautiful cards and the book you made for Stacy. What a lucky girl to have such a loving guy. I do hope you’ll add tutorials for each of those older cards. I’ll be testing out the two you’ve got on your website. Also please let us in on the secret to the wedding ring you made in your book and those basket-style hearts. Am I asking for too much? I’m especially interested in making pop-ups with intricate objects that unfurl as the card opens. I enjoyed the lacy christmas tree and I didn’t think 10 minutes was too long for the tutorial. Cute dog. I will make these. I’m a photographer and can see some potential for art there.
Thanks so much for the ideas. ?? Julie

Posted at 12:52h, 20 FebruaryLove your tutorials. Such beautiful work. BTW I got here through a link from another person’s papercrafting blog. I was wondering if you could recommend a book on making pop-up cards. I’ll be returning here often. Thank you so much for the templates & tuts.

Posted at 02:00h, 21 FebruaryThanks for visiting my blog! I have several pop up making books. “The Pop-Up Book” by Paul Jackson has all the fundamentals. I also have many of Masahiro Chatani and Keiko Nakazawa books, but they are hard to find these days. Most of my designs are inspired from them.
