03 Jun Father’s day pop up card ideas
So I've been MIA on my blog for a few weeks. I've actually been working on a wedding pop up card card for my best friend and his new wife. The card came out great, but it was actually difficult to make. It's not a traditional wedding card. It will take me some time to make a tutorial on it. I'll have to tweak the design a little to make it open up and “work” better for anyone who wants to make it. I'm not going to tell you what the card looks like until I start working on the tutorial, so I'll leave you in suspense. Another reason why I have been behind on my blog is that at my best friend's wedding, I lost my camera. I'm pretty bummed. Besides paper crafts, photography is also one of my hobbies. I just purchased a new wide angle lens just for the wedding. The camera I lost was a Nikon D90 with a Tokina 11-16mm lens. I used it to take all the photos and videos of my cards. I lost the camera with half of the wedding pictures I took. So looking at photos is a little depressing right now. Anyways, my photos and videos will now be taken with my little point and shoot camera.
Ok, enough about my camera, Father's day is coming up. Unlike Mother's day, I think a Father's day card is a little tougher. Most mother's like flowers, so it's easy to make a flower themed card for moms. But for fathers, I'm a little stumped. Here are some of my ideas.
- Pop up shirt and tie
- Pop up fishing dad
- Pop up dad and child looking over a cliff
- Pop up sports car
- Pop up golfing dad
None of these seem to appeal to all dads. So let me know which idea you like, or if you have any better ideas.
Update: Thanks for all the great ideas! I ended up making the pop up barbecue grill.
